Having been a loyal client for many years, we know an Oliver Wyman print project is always going to be cut from a different piece of cloth. And in this instance, we mean it quite literally. At 146 pages, The Thinkers, Dreamers and Doers Shaping Our Future is a weighty tome, reflecting its thought-provoking content and frankly awe-inspiring design. Oliver Wyman Forum, the think-tank of the global management consultancy firm, spent tireless research hours investigating how the pandemic affected those people shaping our now and our future, and what that means for business, the economy and our wider society. The eight personas identified form what they call a ‘Modern Renaissance’ and have been visually-rendered in reworkings of paintings of old. It was absolutely vital that the print needed to support, compliment and give value to this unique proposition, and we worked closely with the team at Oliver Wyman to do just that. What was borne out of this collaborative project was a sumptuous collection of finishes—including covers with foil and soft-touch laminate. Two different gilt-edge options—a neon yellow, another other silver—were created for the more stand-out and more conservative desks respectively. Clothbound, robust endpapers, different G . F Smith and Fedrigoni stocks, fold-out pages, appropriately-coloured ribbons and head tail bands. Excuse us while we take a breath. Copies were further bound in customised wrap, and stickered for an added flourish, in readiness to be shipped to their forever homes around the globe.
